HOW TO GET TO SNOWWATER

Guests typically arrive to Snowwater by one of three options:

• Fly into Castlegar Airport , BC (YCG). There is a shuttle service to the junction where our main office is located.
• Fly into Skokane, WA (GEG). We can arrange a shuttle or you can rent a car.
• Drive to our office at the Slocan Junction. You can keep your vehicle free of charge at our meeting spot at the junction of HWY 3A and  6.

 

WHERE AND WHEN WE MEET
All guests now meet at our base office at 2:00 pm at the junction of Highway 3A and 6 at the street light.  You can't miss the big blue buildings on the corner.  You will be returned to this location on your last day of heli-skiing by our shuttle service by around 2:00pm on your last day of skiing.   There is lots of parking available free of charge for your vehicle.  

Please refrain from alcohol consumption before arriving to lodge as we will do our beacon training on the first afternoon.

 

      GENERAL ARRIVAL SCHEDULE

• Arrive at Junction by 2:00 pm
• Change into ski gear and ski boots for beacon training at lodge
• Get your bags room - tagged at the office.  Any extra gear can be left at our office.
• Read and sign your insurance waiver form
• Get weighed for your heli flight
• Take a 5 minute van ride to our helipad
• Get a helicopter safety briefing from your pilot before flying to the lodge.
• If the weather is stormy you will travel to the lodge by either snowmobile and/or snowcat.

     ARRIVAL AT LODGE

• Arrive at lodge between 3 and 5 pm
• Avalanche beacons, Safety packs and ski straps are assigned to each guest.
• Have avalanche safety briefing and beacon training
• Welcome drink and orientation talk
• Welcome orientation tour an dget settled in rooms.  Your luggage will be waiting for you in your room!
• Enjoy a frosty beverage before dining.
• 7:00 pm gourmet 5 course dinner
• Guides will set up your skis either before or after dinner - determined by actual arrival time

LATE ARRIVALS

Being late is not a good idea.

It is an extra $500 fee per heli load if you need to get picked up outside of our scheduling.

NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
