Trip Checklist

Preparation is 9/10ths of the party!
We recommend printing off the pre-trip package found at the bottom of this page.

What to Bring

  • Airline Tickets
  • Passport/ID – make sure they are current!
  • Visa (if applicable)
  • A couple of masks (N95 ARE BEST), hand sanitizer, etc
  • 1 carry-on luggage including ski or snowboard boots.  ALWAYS bring your ski boots or snowboard boots as carry-on items on airplanes. GRIPWALK boots are compatible with our bindings.  TOURING BOOTS are NOT compatible.  In this case please bring your own touring skis as well.
  • Baselayers
  • Ski socks
  • Midlayer (insulation or fleece)
  • High-quality outerwear (Gore-TEX or similar)
  • Gloves or mittens
  • Helmet
  • Warm headwear
  • Goggles -extra goggles when all the powda gets in your face! (we do sell them in our retail areas as well)
  • Buff/face protection
  • Lodge clothing (comfy)
  • Slippers (or you can use our crocs)
  • Regular boots (mud/snow – or use our insulated rubber boots
  • Bathing suit (hot tub)
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen/chapstick
  • Basic toiletries - toothbrush, toothpaste, medication, Advil, etc
  • Laptop – yes we have high-speed wireless Internet – but not for movies, Netflix etc
  • Cell phone and charger. We have great reception at the lodge for Telus, Verizon, Bell and Virgin
  • Earplugs – if your friend likes to snore

What We Supply

  • We supply all your avalanche safety gear, including BCA 22L Airbag, Tracker S digital avalanche beacon, probe, shovel.  You are responsible for the intact return of all equipment at the end of the trip. 
  • Cell phone. We have reception at the lodge for Telus, Verizon and Bell carriers.
  • Powder skis or snowboard. Rossignol powder skis are included in your package to ensure the best powder experience. If you want to bring your own skis or snowboard, please only bring one set of gear. We highly recommend that your skis should have a waist width of at least 80mm or greater for easy turning and endurance.
  • Ski straps - required for heli packaging.
  • Crocs for indoor use. But feel free to bring your own slippers!
  • NEW!  Dry Shod Winter Boots for winter walking in style.
  • Boot and glove dryers in each guest lodge.
  • Natural, organic bath products:
  • Draft beer and house wine with dinner are included! – We have a full bar at Snowwater and do not permit guests to bring their own alcohol. If you would like to bring some unique wine, we do allow 2 bottles max per person with a corkage fee of $50 each. If you have any special requests, please let us know and we will be happy to make sure your expectations are met.  Specialty cocktails, canned beverages and cellared wine are available for an additional charge.


Gratuities have not been included in your trip.  Tips are a customary part of this industry in Canada, and are greatly appreciated by all.  If you feel you received exceptional service and your trip made memorable by the efforts of those who work at the lodge or in the ski program, your gratuity will be made known to all.


Arrival and Departure times


You always arrive the night before your ski trip dates.  This way you can relax in comfort and wake up in paradise. Please be at our base office Clubhouse for 4:30pm the day before your trip starts.  You will be shuttled to the lodge from here:

  • 997 Dogwood Dr, South Slocan, BC V0G 2G0


At the end of the trip, you will be at the base office no later then 4:30 pm. Sometimes you will come directly from the Valhallas to the office, and sometimes you will be shuttled from the lodge, depending on where we ski the last day.
